Hot Toddy with Cinnamon and Thyme

  • 6 oz water
  • 1.5 oz mild whiskey, brandy or dark rum
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 lemon round
  • 2 sprigs Thyme
  • 1 cinnamon stick


  1. Bring water to a boil
  2. Place thyme sprigs and honey in the bottom of a mug
  3. Pour a small amount of water in the mug and stir to muddle the thyme and dissolve the honey
  4. Add liquor and lemon juice, then fill mug with remaining water
  5. Garnish with cinnamon stick and lemon round

All quantities are “to taste”. You can also add black tea (earl grey works well) for a variation with a little kick.
