Cinnamon Basil Christmas Cookie

Add these aromatic cookies featuring fresh Basil and pecans to your dessert table this Holiday Season.

Ingredients

  • 5 fresh Soli Organic Basil leaves
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2teaspoons vanilla

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 300°F. In a food processor, place basil and sugar. Process on high speed until basil is finely chopped.
  2. In a 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat; stir in basil mixture, flour, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in pecans and vanilla; remove from heat.
  3. Onto ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by 1/4 cupful; flatten to 1/4-inch thickness with the bottom of a drinking glass.
  4. Bake for 40 minutes or until golden. Remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.
