San Antonio is going green. Over at Brooks, Soli Organic Inc. debuted a 140,000-square-foot soil-based vertical farm at the site of the former Brooks Air Force Base on Wednesday, June 5.

It’s the first-ever soil-based, vertical farm in the San Antonio area. According to a news release, the innovative new farm setup is designed to use 90 percent less water and 1/100th of the land typically used in traditional farming.
